‘We are here, HEAR project’ Workshop
Maynooth University Access will be introducing the We are here HEAR Project on Thursday 30th September from 11AM -12. We are here, HEAR is an open-air touring exhibition and a website of photographs and stories from refugees on the barriers they have experienced accessing Higher Education in Ireland. We are here HEAR is about raising awareness about the presence of refugees in Ireland, and bringing their voices into public spaces to highlight some of the considerable challenges they experience. This Social Inclusion Week webinar will showcase performance videos with spoken word artist Felispeaks and dancer Mufutau Yusuf, presentations from Ronald Kayinga from MASI (movement of Asylums Seekers Ireland) and Zoryana Pshyk from Newbridge Asylum Seekers Support Group, as well as Declan Markey from College Connect (AIT, DkIT, DCU, MU), who will signpost what supports are available into education for refugees and people in the protection process.
