We are delighted to announce the return of Kildare PPN’s Climate Action Series for 2025. This year’s event will take place from Thursday, April 22nd, to Saturday, April 24th, featuring a range of workshops and events over three days.
Join us as we come together to explore practical solutions and empower individuals and communities to build a more sustainable future.

Digital Pollution and Cutting Costs with Energy Efficiency

A Show House with a difference

Join a local Sustainable Energy Community Lead for a guided tour of the Kildare County Council DemoHouse in Maynooth, Kildare’s Decarbonisation Zone.
This is your chance to explore a real home that has been fully retrofitted with energy upgrades, sustainable features, nature based solutions and environmental measures, all under one roof.
See the results for yourself, get practical advice, and learn how you can apply these ideas in your own home to save energy, lower costs, and live more sustainably
MU Biodiversity Day with Maynooth Green Campus
Date: Thursday 22nd of May from 12:00pm
Location: Maynooth University
- Biodiversity Walk and Mini-Bioblitz with Dr Jim Carolan
- An interactive talk with Natural Capital Ireland (NCI) coordinator Deirdre Lane and Dr Maria (Callanan) Fitzpatrick on the concept of natural capital, a way to understand the value nature provides and our dependence on it.
- Birdwatching on Campus: Discovering Biodiversity at Dusk with BirdWatch Ireland-Kildare members


Valuing Nature and Biodiversity with NCI on International Day for Biodiversity

On International Day for Biodiversity join Dr Maria Fitzpatrick for an interactive talk with introductory presentation on avenues for an Ireland in which the value of nature is accounted for in every decision. Introduction to valuing Nature with Deirdre Lane from Natural Capital Ireland and KEEN. Pizza on the evening for guests. Weather permitting the talk will be hosted outdoors.

Sustainable Wardrobes Workshop

The fashion industry has a big impact on the planet, but our clothing choices can make a difference. In this interactive session, you’ll learn about the environmental and social challenges behind fast fashion, and more importantly, what you can do to build a more sustainable wardrobe. We’ll share practical tips on choosing and caring for clothes, donating responsibly, and making smarter fabric choices.
With two group activities and a breakout session for relaxed chats, this workshop is a great chance to connect, share ideas, and walk away with fresh inspiration for dressing more sustainably.
