Advisory Groups
As part of our commitment to strengthening community participation, we have restructured our former linkage groups into three new Advisory Groups to align with our pillars:
- Community & Voluntary
- Environmental
- Social Inclusion

What are Advisory Groups?
Advisory Groups provide a platform for you to support our PPN Representatives and help shape their mandate. By joining, you can share insights, raise important issues, and contribute to shaping policies that impact our communities.
They Discuss matters being discussed by the relevant statutory / Local Authority Board or Committee, to inform the Representative(s), and where relevant to prioritise and develop policy positions.
They support the Representatives to fulfil their role by advancing the diversity of views within the Advisory Group to the relevant Local Authority Committee or Forum.
Who can join?
Advisory Groups are open to any member of organisations/groups registered with Kildare PPN regardless of your group’s pillar.
How often do Advisory Groups meet?
Advisory Groups will meet as often as they determine but at least twice per year. After each meeting, the advisory group will upload a report from their meeting to the Kildare PPN website here

Immediate Priorities
At our Plenary meeting in March, we held our first workshop to form the Advisory Groups. During this session, our member groups identified three key priorities in each pillar for our representatives to bring forward:
Priorities
Community and Voluntary | Environment | Social Inclusion |
---|---|---|
Community Funding and Resources | Land Use | Community Transport |
Open Spaces | Habitat Protection & Identification | Environmental Access |
Community Transport | Public Land Use & Designation | Integration |
