Kildare Sports Partnership Grant Scheme 2025

This 2025 Grant Scheme aims to support new and existing clubs, coaches and volunteers to develop greater participation among target groups as reflected in the Kildare Sports Partnership Strategy 2022-23. Applications are now invited for initiatives that will increase participation in sport and physical activity, with an emphasis on the following areas:

Grants are available for initiatives focused on:

– Women in Sport

– People with Disabilities

– Training & Education

– Coaching & Training Aids

Special focus this year on volunteer recruitment & retention.

Is your community group looking to lower energy costs and reduce carbon emissions? The SE Systems Community Fund Summer Call is here to help! We support non-profits, charities, and voluntary organisations in delivering impactful energy efficiency and renewable energy projects that create long-term benefits for communities across Ireland.

For Summer 2025, SES are making €500,000 in funding available to help organisations future-proof their buildings through sustainable energy upgrades.

Welcome to the Secretariat

Welcome to the Secretariat!

Kildare PPN is delighted to welcome two new members to our Secretariat team: Stephanie Obijiaku and Imelda Chawk.

Stephanie Obijiaku of Ada Igbo Ireland has joined as the representative for the Clane–Maynooth Municipal District.

Imelda Chawk of Naas Women’s Shed is now representing the Naas Municipal District.

We’re excited to have them on board and look forward to the energy and insight they will bring to the team.

 

Kildare Social Inclusion Week 

Kildare PPN, in partnership with County Kildare LEADER Partnership, is inviting community groups to submit an Expression of Interest to host events for Social Inclusion Week 2025, taking place from September 22nd –27th.

This year, we are encouraging collaborative events involving multiple groups or communities.

We welcome all ideas, from workshops, cultural celebrations, talks, or creative projects.

We are currently seeking nominations from Kildare PPN member groups for a number of positions on the Kildare PPN Secretariat.

The Kildare PPN Secretariat is the administrative body that oversee the operations of the PPN, ensures the smooth operation of the PPN, and supports the network’s development. If you’re passionate about community engagement and have the skills to contribute, we encourage you to get involved.

Kildare Outdoor Recreation Plan and Local Sports Plan Workshop

As part of the consultation process, KCC and KSP are conducting workshops for clubs and grassroots organisations engaging in Sport or Outdoor Recreation across County Kildare. The events are designed to be interactive and will support the development of robust, evidence-based and needs-led plans for County Kildare. Demand is expected to be high and therefore two events are being offered for representatives of clubs and groups across the county. Please feel free to raise awareness of the workshops across the network of sport or outdoor recreation groups in your local area

Monday 23rd June 7pm- 9pm in the Corrib Centre at Glenroyal Hotel in Maynooth, Co Kildare. Register here

WOMEN’S SELF-DEFENCE WORKSHOP

Ready to feel more confident, capable, and in control?

Join HERSpace and Kildare Sports Partnership for a practical, beginner-friendly self-defence workshop designed by women, for women.

Helium Arts Summer Camps 

Do you know a young person (age 6–12) living with a lifelong physical health condition (like diabetes, epilepsy, spina bifida, heart conditions, juvenile arthritis, rare conditions, and more) who loves being creative and meeting new friends?

Helium Arts is offering a FREE Online Summer Art Camp, open to children across Ireland. The camp is designed to be flexible and fun, with creative activities that children can do at their own pace from home.

Once registered, you’ll receive a bespoke art pack delivered to your door. Every Saturday, you’ll get a fun, easy activity by email Optional Zoom sessions offer a chance to meet the artist and other children

Recent News

Successful applicants under the Local Enhancement Programme 2025 Announced

Funding of €198,448 will be awarded to 49 community/voluntary groups to support capital and equipment costs and €37,191 will be awarded to 51 groups to support running costs.

Three of the groups being funded today are:

Athy Community & Family Centre T/A Athy Happy Days Community Childcare will receive €9,780 to support development of an outdoor play area and €1,000 to support running costs.

Kildare Town Community and Family Resource Centre will receive €6,128 towards the purchase of furniture and €1,000 to support running costs.

Johnstownbridge Men’s Shed will receive €1,000 to support running costs.

LEP is funded through the Department of Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht. It aims to support community groups, organisations and centres located in areas of disadvantage and/or with a clear remit to provide services to the most socially excluded.

Naas announced as the winners of Ireland’s Best Kept Town

Congratulations to Naas, and all the hard working volunteers in Naas Tidy Towns as they were announced as the overall winner of Ireland’s Best Kept Town competition, 2025.

Naas also won the Best Kept Large Urban Centre category.

 

Library Development Plan: “Building for Tomorrow” Lanuched

This five-year plan sets out a transformative agenda for Kildare’s libraries, positioning them as inclusive, innovative, and sustainable community hubs. Developed through extensive public consultation and guided by national strategies such as The Library is the Place (2023), the plan reflects the evolving needs of Kildare’s growing and diverse population.
