The North Leinster Citizens Information Service invites expressions of interest for appointment as a member of the Board of Directors (Four (4) Vacancies)

The Citizens Information Service

Citizens Information Services (CIS) are companies provides comprehensive information on all aspects of public services and entitlements for people in Ireland. This is done by providing face-to-face information on public and social services on a drop-in and appointment basis. The CIS also provides an advocacy service for its clients. There are Citizens Information Centres (CICs) right across Ireland, and these are supported by outreach locations and a mobile service. The North Leinster Citizens Information Service (NLCIS) was founded in 2018 as part of a national restructure of the Citizens Information network and provides its service in Kildare, Longford, Louth, Meath, and Westmeath through a network of twelve (12) Citizen Information Centres and several ‘casual outreach’ services.

The NLCIS is seeking to recruit four (4) individuals to join our Board, which is made up of committed, experienced volunteers from across the voluntary, community and Public Sectors. The board plays a very important role as the governing authority for the organisation and there is an agreed priority to recruit individuals of diverse backgrounds and experience.

There is a particular focus on the following competencies for new directors:

  • HR or Workplace Relations; and/or
  • Financial Management/Internal Audit; and/or
  • Risk Management; and/or
  • Service Delivery (in an similar environment)

These are voluntary Boards and while no fees will be paid to Board members, travel and subsistence expenses will be paid when applicable.
