Have your say: The Kildare Meath Grid Upgrade

EirGrid, the state company which manages Ireland’s electricity has launched a public consultation on the Kildare-Meath Grid Upgrade. EirGrid is calling on communities to have their say on the 5 options which are being considered for the project by visiting www.eirgrid.ie/KildareMeath.

The options

EirGrid have identified the upgrading of an existing line 220 kV overhead line to 400 kV as their emerging best performing option. A 400 kV underground cable has been identified as the emerging best performing alternative. However, before making a decision, EirGrid wants to know what communities think of all the options and which one they would prefer.
