Kildare PPN Plenary Meeting
|
Kildare PPN’s final Plenary meeting of the year will take place on Monday the 10th of November 2025 at 7:00pm in the Keadeen Hotel in Newbridge.
An invitation, including the agenda will be sent to all member groups in the coming weeks.

Community Climate Action Programme Clinics
|
Round 2 of the Community Climate Action Programme (CCAP) will open for applications on Tuesday 28th of October 2025. The Programme supports small and large, rural and urban communities to take climate action at a local level, and supports projects within five key areas: Community Energy, Travel, Shopping & Recycling, Food and Waste, and Local Climate and Environmental Action
Drop-in information sessions will be held across County Kildare. These sessions offer an opportunity to learn more about the programme, share your ideas, ask questions, and explore potential project concepts.

Brigid, Spirit of Kildare Festival, Community and Creative Grant Scheme 2026
|
Applications for funding from communities, groups, creatives, clubs and other relevant organisations delivering projects in partnership with local communities in Kildare will open on 1st October 2025.
We are interested in inclusive projects that reflect the cultural richness of Kildare and the diversity of all communities living in the county. We are committed to projects that consider equality, inclusion, accessibility and diversity.
Closing date for submission of applications is: 4.00 p.m. Friday 31st October 2025

The Irish Youth Foundation is once again opening our Flagship Fund for 2025. The goal of this fund is to support projects and programmes around the country that are focused on lifting children and young people up and out of poverty.

€150,000 parent peer support fund is now open for applications
|
Parent peer support is when parents support each other by sharing knowledge, reducing feelings of isolation, and providing encouragement to navigate challenges and achieve well-being.
Grants of up to €5,000 can be provided to organisations working with parents and/or carers to support them to develop parent peer support initiatives. This includes peer support for parents who share similar life experiences, such as raising a child with complex needs or a mental health condition.

Circle K and the FAI have launched their third annual Cash for Clubs campaign, supporting grassroots football across Ireland. Over 20 clubs nationwide will win prizes — from brand new kits to €10,000 in cash.

A partnership initiative of the Kildare and West Wicklow Parenting Forum and multi-agency collaboration.
Come enjoy a fun day out with your child; meet, socialise or share a cuppa with other Dads, and get information and learn about supports that are available from your local service providers.
Lots of FREE activities will take place during the day – some are bookable / ticketed, while others are drop in on the day events.

Budget 2026: €611 million in funding for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht
|
- €192 million secured for continued delivery of rural development schemes, with increased funding for the Local Improvement Scheme (LIS), CLÁR, Outdoor Recreation, and the Town and Village Renewal Scheme.
- €260 million for community development schemes, with increased funding for the Community Services Programme (CSP); and funding for a new RAPID-style scheme to commence in 2026.
- Additional funding of over €36 million for Gaeltacht, the Irish Language, and for the Islands. This provides €159 million for enhanced supports across a range of schemes and for delivery of key capital projects – Inis Oírr pier, the Irish Language and Cultural Centre in Harcourt Street, and the new Educational and Youth Facility in Indreabhán, Co Galway.

Maynooth Celebrates Gold at Entente Florale Europe 2025

Celebrating its jubilee year, Entente Florale Europe is the continent’s longest running environmental awards scheme, dedicated to enhancing quality of life and promoting best practice in cities, towns and villages across Europe. New 30km/h Speed Limits Proposed for Housing Estates in Kildare
|
Kildare County Council plans to introduce 30kph speed limits in all housing estates taken in charge across the county – a key safety measure under Jake’s Law to help protect children and families in residential areas.
The draft byelaws are grouped into 5 volumes, one for each Municipal District

Heritage Trail for Old Kilcullen
|
Kildare County Council is proposing a new Heritage Trail for Old Kilcullen, Co. Kildare (Ref: P82025.06)
The plans include:
– New signage & information boards
– Safer traffic calming measures & parking
– Reopening a section of Hacklow Road for walking & cycling
– Landscaping & biodiversity improvements
The project has been fully assessed and found not to have significant environmental impacts.
